Competition Rules

Effective September 27, 2026

These rules govern Laurel monthly cash competitions for eligible learners. For rounds under this policy, including the September 2026 test rounds, global competition participation and awards are free and do not require Laurel Pro; campus competitions require verified Laurel Pro access at closing. Other published rounds retain the Pro requirements in their own schedules. A cash competition is offered only once its monthly schedule and rules are published. An explicitly identified mid-month launch includes qualifying activity and recorded revenue from UTC month-start; a zero-dollar pool is valid.

2. Who may participate

Participants must be individual residents of Canada or the United States, at least 13 years old (14 in Quebec), using their own eligible Laurel account. Participation is void where prohibited by applicable law. A participant below the age of adulthood where they live must have any required parent or guardian permission; a guardian must assist with eligibility confirmation and receipt of funds where required. Passing the NCLEX-RN is not required.

You must truthfully meet the monthly scored-activity and other qualification criteria published for that month. The published schedule states whether verified production Laurel Pro access at closing is required. Global rounds under this policy, including the September 2026 test rounds, do not require Pro; campus rounds and other published rounds with a Pro requirement retain it. Where Pro is required, supported paid grace periods and complimentary grants qualify, but sandbox purchases do not. Campus awards also require a genuine affiliation with the campus recorded on your account at UTC month-end. Profile changes during an open month withdraw the previous campus entry and enter or reactivate the applicable new campus competition. At UTC month-end affiliation freezes, even if closing or settlement is processed later. Later changes affect open months only; closed entries and existing claims retain their original competition. Use one account and a truthful campus affiliation; do not change affiliation to seek additional awards. Laurel may ask for proportionate verification.

Sponsor employees, officers, directors, people administering the competition, and their immediate family members or members of the same household are ineligible. For absolute-readiness rounds, a verified winning month or outstanding award reservation blocks later awards under that competition’s one-winning-month policy. For monthly-readiness-change rounds, previous wins and outstanding claims do not block entry or another award. Other competitions apply their eligibility independently. These restrictions do not prevent ordinary study.

3. Monthly periods and prize schedules

Each period runs from 00:00:00 UTC on the first day of a calendar month until immediately before 00:00:00 UTC on the first day of the next month. Global and each participating campus are separate competitions, each with its own recurring settings and monthly rounds. Published schedules below identify dates, currency, committed funding and allocation policy. Each published round belongs to its named global or campus competition. Funding, ranking and settlement are separate for each competition. Future configuration changes do not rewrite an opened or published month.

Laurel may launch a missing competition during the current month. An enabled campus competition can also open automatically when its configured start permits it, a campus learner with an active examination has scored activity that month, and the same examination’s global round is published. The published schedule records the actual publication time. A current-month launch includes qualifying activity and captured revenue since UTC month-start, using that competition’s own funding and distribution settings. It does not alter another competition or an existing published commitment. Campus membership still freezes at UTC month-end. A completed month cannot be launched. Participation and prizes remain subject to the qualification and Pro requirements in these Rules.

A published prize pool consists of its base contribution plus explicitly approved revenue additions and other manual additions. Revenue never funds a prize pool automatically. The administrator may approve additional funding until the financial cutoff. Unapproved revenue suggestions are internal planning information and are not offered prizes.

Sales belong to their provider purchase timestamp’s UTC month and campus membership at purchase, separately from current competition membership. Refunds adjust the original sale’s month and campus. Amounts default to Canadian dollars (CAD); a published schedule may use US dollars (USD). All competitions for the same examination and month use the same currency. Conversions use cached transaction-date Bank of Canada rates, with the latest preceding published rate on non-publication days. Original purchase amounts are retained.

Committed pools can increase through explicit approved top-ups until the funding cutoff in the published schedule. For the unawarded September 2026 test competitions and new rounds under this policy, funding closes at UTC month-end and settlement can begin immediately after closing. The September test-run amendment preserves the existing competition, scored activity, leaderboard and committed prize amounts. Completed or already awarded rounds and other published rounds retaining a 72-hour window keep their stored funding cutoff. Sales, refunds and revenue corrections do not reduce committed prizes. Displayed individual prizes remain projections until eligibility and allocation are finalized. Uncertain closing eligibility can delay finalization; unapproved revenue and unresolved revenue processing do not delay settlement of committed funding.

After settlement, Laurel freezes the funding basis, eligibility evidence, ranking and allocations. Later corrections appear in revenue reporting and funding differences; they do not rewrite awards. Audited top-ups use the published distribution. Zero-dollar awards create no claim or winning-month restriction. Pausing future scheduling preserves published commitments.

Total rewards shows the committed prize pool for the selected global or campus competition. Your position shows your rank in that competition. Switching between Global and your campus changes the competition these cards describe. Individual prize amounts shown on the leaderboard are projections until eligibility and allocations are finalized; they are not unpaid historical balances. Confirmed awards have separate claims, accessible through Claims and the notification inbox even after Laurel Pro expires.

4. Participation and readiness ranking

Entry is automatic after qualifying scored learning activity within the published monthly period. The global and applicable campus competition each receive a separate participant entry and assess eligibility independently. Where the published schedule requires Pro, verified production access must cover closing; paid and complimentary access qualify equally. Free global rounds do not depend on Pro access or subscription verification. There is no separate entry fee or claim fee, and no purchased exam-results report is required. Claims remain accessible after Pro expires. Optional analytics consent is not a condition. Ordinary study, internet access and taking the NCLEX may involve costs charged by others; Laurel does not require purchasing an examination result to prove attendance.

Each published schedule identifies its scoring policy. Absolute-readiness rounds rank cumulative readiness at closing and retain their previous-winning-month restrictions. Monthly-readiness-change rounds rank readiness at closing minus readiness at UTC month-start, measured in readiness points. The baseline is reconstructed from learning before month-start; a learner with no earlier scored history starts at zero. Mistakes and time away can produce a negative change; the highest change ranks first even if all changes are negative. Qualifying scored activity must occur during the month. Live rankings apply the same measure at their displayed observation time; closing rankings use the month-end snapshot after eligibility review. Applicable administrator and fraud exclusions remain in force. Regional lists filter the global competition and have no separate prize pool. The published qualification and scoring rules cannot be changed mid-period to reduce or divert awards.

A readiness ranking is an educational estimate, not an actual exam result or a guarantee of future performance. Your likelihood of receiving an award depends on your qualifying performance and the number and performance of other eligible participants. There is no random draw. A person can earn awards in both the global and an eligible campus competition, in the same month or different months, subject to the scoring and eligibility policy identified in each published schedule.

5. Ties and award allocation

The default distribution is linear across ten positions. Published configurations may use 1–100 positions: equal weights, descending linear weights, or power-law weights of 1 divided by rank raised to the published exponent (default 1.5). For monthly-readiness-change rounds, committed funding and prize slots are whole dollars. Allocate whole dollars by largest remainder, with earlier positions breaking equal remainders. Each rank receives its own published slot; prizes are not shared for equal readiness changes.

For monthly-readiness-change rounds, equal changes are ordered by higher current readiness, then newer account creation time, then ascending account identifier. This produces a distinct rank and prize slot for every eligible participant.

Absolute-readiness rounds retain their published cent-based allocation and shared-tie policy. Participants tied on readiness share the total of all affected slots equally, including tied participants beyond the last paid slot. Round each equal share upward to the cent; Laurel funds any rounding difference. Apply the appropriate policy separately to each global or campus round.

6. Notification and acknowledgment

Laurel will notify provisional winners within seven days after the monthly period ends, through the durable in-app notification inbox, with optional push notifications. Claims open as soon as settlement completes after the published funding cutoff and eligibility checks; rounds whose funding closes at month-end have no additional waiting period. Each notification identifies the competition and month and opens its claim; acknowledgment does not require Pro access. A leaderboard display alone is not a direct notification.

Each positive award has exactly one claim, owned by that competition-round participant. Submit each award separately. Each claim has its own acknowledgment, proof and payment deadlines, processing status and support ticket reference. An award in another competition has a separate claim and does not extend this claim’s deadlines. Enter your reply email to start a claim; Laurel will provide an initial support response within five business days. That is an initial response commitment, not a verification or payment deadline, and does not extend the deadlines below.

A provisional winner must acknowledge the notification within 14 days of notification, confirm that they wish to claim, and begin any required eligibility or guardian declarations. This acknowledgment reserves the original award while NCLEX proof is pending. Proof of sitting the NCLEX is not due within those 14 days. Notification will specify the acknowledgment deadline and the separate proof deadline.

If you do not acknowledge on time, decline, or are disqualified, the affected award remains unawarded. Laurel will not redistribute it to a lower-ranked participant. Contact support promptly about a notification or access problem; timely acknowledgment remains required unless applicable law requires otherwise.

7. Reserved award and NCLEX proof

After timely acknowledgment, Laurel reserves the original award amount, including any top-up allocated under the schedule, pending proof that you actually sat the NCLEX-RN after joining Laurel. The sitting may be before or after the winning month, but it must be after your Laurel account was created. Passing is unnecessary.

Proof is due 12 months after notification, on the calendar anniversary specified in the notification. Submit proof through support@laurel.now, with your claim reference. Provide redacted official evidence from the exam administrator or relevant nursing regulator that identifies you and confirms a completed NCLEX-RN sitting and its date. An appointment, registration receipt or authorization to test alone does not prove a completed sitting. A free official communication or record that establishes those facts is acceptable; you do not have to buy a quick-results report.

Redact scores, candidate identifiers, unrelated personal information and other unnecessary details. Where the evidence does not clearly establish a required fact, Laurel may ask for clarification or a suitable alternative. Laurel’s review delay does not invalidate proof submitted by the deadline. A timely submission remains reserved during review and reasonable follow-up to clarify that submission; it does not reserve a sitting that has not occurred by the proof deadline.

If timely proof is not provided and no applicable legal requirement extends the deadline, the unpaid reservation expires and the award remains unawarded. For absolute-readiness rounds, expiry alone without fraud restores eligibility under their one-winning-month policy. Monthly-readiness-change rounds allow repeated wins whether an earlier claim is pending or resolved. Laurel does not require you to pass, buy a study product, or take an earlier sitting than you choose; the stated proof deadline still applies.

8. Repeat wins and historical winning restrictions

For a round identified in its published schedule as monthly readiness change, an eligible person may win again in later months. A previous win or outstanding claim does not disqualify that person. Each award keeps its own claim, original reserved amount, proof requirements and deadlines. Identity verification and the one-account rule still apply.

Absolute-readiness rounds retain the policy of one winning month per person in each competition. An outstanding reservation blocks later awards under that policy; verification makes the restriction permanent even if payment is delayed. Unpaid expiry without fraud restores eligibility, but does not retroactively create an award for a blocked month. Fraud restrictions remain effective for both scoring policies. Changing the scoring policy does not cancel existing claims or reduce reserved awards.

9. Verification and payment

Laurel will pay within 30 days after verification is complete. Required payment instructions, guardian involvement and any legally required identity or tax details form part of verification. Laurel will identify missing requirements promptly and will not use its own review delay to invalidate timely evidence or reduce the reserved amount.

Payment uses the currency and lawful payment method stated in the schedule or agreed with the winner. Laurel does not charge a claim fee. Recipients are responsible for taxes that law assigns to them; Laurel will make any legally required reporting or withholding. If a guardian must receive funds for a minor, the award still belongs to that minor’s winning month.

We handle verification information under the Privacy Policy. Redacted proof is retained for 30 days after claim resolution unless a dispute or legal obligation requires longer. Minimal winner-eligibility records are retained as needed to administer claims, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and enforce any restriction in the applicable published schedule. Additional publicity is optional except any winner disclosure legally required for the competition.

10. Integrity, corrections and disputes

Laurel may verify account identity, campus affiliation, scored participation and proof, correct demonstrable errors, and exclude activity affected by bots, duplicate accounts, impersonation, tampering, collusion, stolen content, exploits or falsified evidence. Measures must be proportionate and based on a reason connected to eligibility, integrity or law. Affected participants may contact support to request an explanation and review, subject to lawful confidentiality and security limits.

If an outage, fraud or legal requirement compromises a period, Laurel may take the steps reasonably necessary to preserve a fair, lawful competition, including pausing affected activity or correcting results. These measures do not allow Laurel to rewrite a published formula, reduce settled awards, alter the allocation method to avoid paying, or invalidate timely claims because of sponsor delay. If law prevents an award, Laurel will explain the required treatment. Other unclaimed or disqualified awards remain unawarded.

Contact support@laurel.now to seek resolution. Ontario and applicable federal Canadian law govern, subject to mandatory protections where you live. Courts with lawful jurisdiction remain available. There is no mandatory arbitration or class-action waiver, and contacting support does not suspend a legal deadline or remove a statutory remedy.

11. Apple is not a sponsor

Apple Inc. is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, this competition. Apple does not administer prizes or claims. Questions and claims must be directed to A Path is Formed by Walking Inc. at support@laurel.now.
