Terms of Service

1. Agreement and eligibility

A Path is Formed by Walking Inc. is federally incorporated in Canada and based in Ontario. Contact us at support@laurel.now or 350 Bay St, Suite 1300B, Toronto, ON M5H 2S6, Canada.

You must be at least 13 years old, or 14 if you live in Quebec. If you have not reached the age of adulthood where you live, you must have parent or guardian permission to use Laurel and accept these Terms where required. A parent or guardian giving permission should review these Terms and supervise the minor’s use. Local mandatory protections for minors continue to apply.

By agreeing to these Terms, you confirm that you meet the minimum age requirement above and have parent or guardian permission if required. The account-creation screen asks you to agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy before continuing with Apple or Google. We record the acceptance time and Terms effective date when creating the account. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Agreeing to these Terms does not authorize optional analytics.

2. An educational tool

Laurel provides study activities, AI-assisted educational content, progress tracking and readiness scores. Content can be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Verify consequential information with authoritative educational and professional sources and use your own judgment.

Laurel is not medical advice, a clinical decision tool, an official exam, or a substitute for an accredited program, clinical supervision or professional requirements. Do not use it to diagnose or treat a person or to make patient-care decisions.

Readiness scores are estimates from your activity. They do not establish competence, eligibility for licensure, or an actual probability or guarantee that you will pass. We do not guarantee an examination outcome, admission, credential, job or income. Laurel is not endorsed by or affiliated with the NCLEX examination owner or administrator merely because it offers preparation material.

3. Your account and participation

Provide accurate information, keep your login secure, and use your own account. Do not share, sell or transfer accounts, impersonate another learner, create duplicate accounts to obtain rewards, or misrepresent your age, residence, campus or eligibility. Tell us promptly if you believe your account is compromised.

Your username, campus affiliation, rank, current readiness score and monthly readiness change may appear automatically on leaderboards when you meet their activity criteria. Choose your username with this visibility in mind. The Privacy Policy describes the disclosure and your privacy choices.

Use Laurel fairly. Do not automate scored participation, exploit bugs, manipulate answers or rankings, coordinate fraudulent participation, interfere with the service, evade restrictions, harvest other learners’ information, infringe rights, or use the service unlawfully. Studying together is permitted; each learner’s submitted scored activity must reflect that learner’s own participation.

4. Free use and paid features

Some features may be free and others may require a subscription. The purchase screen identifies the price, currency, billing period and included features before purchase. If a subscription renews automatically, the store’s purchase disclosures explain renewal and cancellation. Manage or cancel it through the store that bills you. Deleting Laurel or your account does not cancel store billing.

App-store purchases, refunds and payment handling are also subject to that store’s rules and applicable consumer law. Contact support if an entitlement is not working. Nothing here removes a refund, cancellation or other remedy you have under mandatory law. For rounds under this policy, including the September 2026 test rounds, global competition participation and awards are free and do not require Laurel Pro. Campus competition eligibility requires verified Laurel Pro at closing, including qualifying complimentary access. Other published rounds retain the Pro requirements in their own schedules. Buying a subscription never guarantees a prize or rank.

5. Cash competitions and rewards

Laurel may offer a global competition and separate campus competitions for eligible learners. Each competition has its own monthly rounds, participants, funding, rankings and winners. The Competition Rules form part of these Terms for each offered competition, together with its published monthly schedule. The schedule states amounts, currencies, qualifications, Pro requirements, allocations and dates before the period begins, except for an explicitly identified current-month launch that includes qualifying activity and recorded revenue since UTC month-start. Such a launch records its actual publication time and does not change an existing published competition. These Terms alone do not open a competition or promise a fixed recurring prize amount. Published base funding and approved top-ups remain committed. Revenue does not increase a prize pool unless an administrator explicitly approves an addition. Revenue percentages and unapproved suggestions are not prize commitments.

Each award is claimed separately, with its own deadlines, submission and support ticket. Claims remain accessible after Laurel Pro expires. Laurel will provide an initial support response within five business days of the email claim submission; this is not the verification or payment deadline. Leaderboard prize projections relate to the selected competition and are separate from confirmed claims and unpaid historical awards.

Awards are provisional until eligibility is verified. A provisional winner must acknowledge within 14 days of notification. The original award is reserved while the winner supplies proof of an actual NCLEX-RN sitting after joining Laurel, due 12 months after notification. Passing is unnecessary. Payment is due within 30 days after verification, and Laurel’s review delay does not invalidate timely proof. The Competition Rules govern the full process.

For rounds identified in their published schedule as monthly readiness change, previous wins and outstanding claims do not prevent another monthly win. Rounds identified as absolute readiness retain the one-winning-month restriction: an outstanding reservation blocks later awards under that policy, verification makes the restriction permanent, and unpaid expiry without fraud restores eligibility. Global and each campus are separate competitions; an award or restriction in one does not by itself block another. Campus affiliation follows the profile during the month and freezes at UTC month-end, even if closing is processed later. Unclaimed or disqualified awards remain unawarded. Study access does not depend on claiming a prize.

6. Content and permissions

Laurel and its licensors retain rights in the app, software, branding and educational material. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for learning, subject to these Terms and applicable law. You may not resell the service or systematically copy, redistribute or use its protected material to create a competing content collection without permission. Statutory rights, including fair dealing or fair use where applicable, remain available.

You retain any rights you have in answers, feedback and other content you provide. You give us permission to host, process, reproduce and adapt that content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the learning service, respond to you, and meet legal obligations, consistently with the Privacy Policy. This does not transfer ownership of your personal information or authorize unrelated publicity. You must have the right to submit the material you provide.

AI-generated material may resemble other output and may not qualify for exclusive intellectual-property protection. A display in Laurel does not grant rights in third-party material beyond those we can lawfully provide.

7. Changes, restrictions and account closure

We may update content and features, correct mistakes, perform maintenance, or temporarily interrupt service. We aim to give reasonable notice of material changes that affect your use or paid access, except where an urgent security, legal or operational issue requires faster action. Applicable consumer remedies remain available.

We may investigate suspected misuse and apply proportionate measures, such as correcting an affected score, excluding invalid activity, restricting a feature, or suspending or closing an account for serious or repeated violations. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and let you contact support to seek review. We may act immediately to protect people, data or fair participation. Competition-specific decisions follow the Rules and cannot be used simply to reduce announced awards.

You may stop using Laurel and request account deletion through Account settings. Subscription cancellation is separate. Information handling after deletion follows the Privacy Policy. Terms that by their nature apply to an existing dispute or completed transaction continue to apply as needed.

8. Responsibility and legal protections

We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation or a particular learning result. Our responsibility for loss and the remedies available to you are determined by applicable law. These Terms do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer, privacy, accessibility or other statutory rights, including rights that apply because of where you live.

9. Questions and disputes

Please contact support@laurel.now first so we can try to resolve a concern. This is a request for informal resolution, not a barrier to seeking urgent relief, contacting a regulator, or exercising a legal right or deadline.

Ontario law and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario govern these Terms, subject to mandatory laws and consumer rights that apply where you live. Disputes may be brought before courts with lawful jurisdiction. Nothing requires arbitration, waives a right to participate in a class proceeding, or removes a court or remedy available under mandatory law.

10. Updates to these Terms

These Terms take effect on publication on the effective date shown above. We will post revisions with a new fixed effective date and provide reasonable notice of material changes. We will request renewed agreement where required. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights or reduce an announced competition award. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by law.
